As a result of improper actions by the charterer and related claims from cargo interests, a foreign-flagged storage tanker was unable to leave a Russian port for several months.
The shipowner and its insurer approached Jurinflot for assistance in securing the vessel’s release and departure from the port.

Jurinflot organised the resolution of disputes concerning the remaining cargo and coordinated with cargo interests, port authorities, customs authorities and other government agencies to remove the legal and administrative obstacles preventing the vessel from leaving the Russian port.

Our lawyers also represented the shipowner in court and protected its interests in connection with the negotiation, conclusion and implementation of a settlement agreement.

As a result of our work, the vessel was able to leave the port without being arrested or detained.
